Brief History

Bee & the Buskers was formed by five amateur musicians from Kolkata, who wanted to make it big in the show business. From the begining they knew that their strong point was their loyalty towards original music. They were initially called "Joltin' Joe and the Jogglars", but soon the forming members grew an apathy for that specific name as it had the suggestion of an archaic time. But just a week before their first gig at The Trincas, on the 10th of July, 2011, Durjoy and Tathagata, the then guitar player of the band, settled on the name, "Bee & the Buskers".

By 2012, they had their first reformation in the band, with Avijit, the then bass player, moving out of town and Sovan replacing him as the bass player, soon to be replaced by Bijit, after a couple of months. Even Anindya, the drummer, had to take leave due to medical reasons and Rajdeep replaced him as the band's drummer.

By April, 2013, the band had reformed several times trying to find a preferable sound, with the exception of Durjoy and Indradip, playing since its inception. Finally in September, 2013, Durjoy officially disbands the project but after a year under a limbo period, in September 2014, Sounak and Aakash, along with Bhaswar joins Indradip and Durjoy to reform the band once again.

In April 2015, Indradip, the flautist and the sax player, leaves the band due to personal reasons and was replaced by Samrat, a guitar player.

Though the band has gone through several changes in their line-up, they have actually matured with every change, slyly incorporating the sound of each of its new member. A band which was once an rock'n'roll and country band, covers genres from indie to blues to alt-rock to progressive to rock'n'roll.

Presently, Bee & the Buskers has Sounak, on drums, Aakash, on bass, Bhaswar, on violin, Samrat, on electric guitar and Durjoy, on vocal, acoustic guitar, harmonica and songwriting.
